About the Author Kelly Kordes Anton has written and edited dozens of books and training resources on publishing technologies and InDesign, including seven previous editions of the Adobe InDesign Classroom in a Book. She is a Communications Manager for MillerCoors, based at the Golden Brewery, home of the famed Coors Banquet. Kelly lives in Littleton, Colorado. Tina DeJarld has worked on the front lines of taking designs from the computer screen to real-world production since before InDesign 1.0. As both a prepress master and production designer building files that will work correctly, she has handled thousands of large and complex projects, becoming an expert on InDesign best practices and techniques. I’m going to make myself try to plow through this but it is definitely not written for a beginner. Way too much knowledge is presumed by the author. And, the type size is too small for anyone who doesn’t have perfect vision, as are the screen shots from her computer. In the next version, please use a larger font size (at least 12 point!), make your illustrations larger and more readable, and do a first chapter that is truly for beginners. In particular, I’m wanting to see a diagram of the workspace with lines drawn from each and every icon with a name for it, a description of what it does and when one might want to use it. Please note that these icons need to be a good size! I’m not even a regular glasses wearer and they are too darn tiny for even me to see! Blow them up, please and truly identify them. Plus, start each chapter and subject area by telling us what the thing is you are talking about. Again, the author presumes too much. If I knew as much as she presumes, I probably would not have needed to purchase the book. But, I googled some of the basics and printed them out to ADD INSIDE MY BOOK THAT I JUST PURCHASED and had thought would have been in Chapter 1.
