I was a little disappointed with this book. While the author speaks of realistic renderings, the projects in the book look more like commercial art. It may be a personal preference, but I am looking for photo realism which requires more attention to light and shadow, edges, and a more detailed approach to blending. I bought the book in search of ideas for simple landscape projects for my classes but I work very hard to promote colored pencils as a fine art medium, and not relegate it to illustration. I couldn't complain about the price..... It was worth the price to be able to review it.
